What to Do If You Get Injured
Rugby Injury Insurance – What You Need to Know
As part of your season fees, you’re covered by private health insurance for any injuries that happen during training or matches. The insurer is Mutuacat, and you’ll need to follow a few steps to make sure everything’s covered properly.
Tell your coach or team manager as soon as possible after the injury. It needs to have happened during an official training session or match to be covered.
There’s a form called the “Part de Lesió” (Injury Report). Your can download it here.
You’ll need:
- Your Rugby Catalonia license number (ask a coach)
- Details of the injury — what happened, when, and where
Once filled in, take a photo of the form for your records. You must submit the form within 5 days of the injury (federacions@mutuacat.cat), otherwise the insurance might not cover you.
Once you’ve spoken to Mutuacat, head to the clinic they recommend.
Bring:
Your injury report form
ID
A good option is:
Urgencias Clinica CrueBlanca – Sant Gervasi
Open 24/7
Private hospital, usually quick
They speak English
📍 Google Maps link
Just tell reception: “I’ve had a rugby injury and I have the Mutuacat form.”
If the doctor says you need further treatment, scans, or check-ups:
- You’ll need approval from Mutuacat first
- Email them copies of everything the doctor gives you
- Sometimes it takes a few days — follow up with a call or WhatsApp if needed
Once approved, book the appointment directly with the clinic.
Starting July 1, you must call Mutuacat’s 24/7 helpline before heading to an emergency clinic (unless it’s life-threatening).
They’ll tell you:
- Where to go
- What to take
- And they’ll send the clinic an authorization so you don’t have issues when you arrive
